The Secret to McDonalds Iced Coffee

My last post got me thinking again about some of my favorite drinks. My husband and I survived on McDonalds Iced Coffee while we were moving into our new home. We did all of the moving ourselves very late into the morning just to get it done.

Everytime we would complete two van loads of belongings he would send me out to get another iced coffee. We were wired throughout the rest of the move, but we got our moving done in just a few nights. Then we slept off the coffee crash.

Still to this day when I need a pick me up and it's 90 degrees outside, I go to McDonalds and get a delicious iced addiction....I mean coffee!

Now I'll let you in on a little secret, it's even easier to make than the Presidente Margarita! All you need is some freshly ground coffee, heavy cream, flavored syrup of your choice (found at walmart or local grocery stores), and ice.

You are going to want to start with a strong brewed coffee so that it won't be diluted with the addition of ice. Then you add the desired amount of sugar while the coffee is still hot and stir until all of it is dissolved. Put the coffee in the refrigerator overnight to chill.

The next day when it is chilled thoroughly, fill a mug or glass with ice, pour coffee over it, add heavy cream and flavored syrup, stir, enjoy. For me, I am a fan of regular coffee flavor with just a bit of sugar. But I have found that hazelnut or caramel syrup is tasty too.

Chili's Presidente Margarita

So, recently I have been very curious as to whether or not there is a way to make my favorite dishes and drinks from eateries at home. They are made to taste great and get you hooked, but how they are made is locked up like Fort Knox.

Now what if I told you that I have discovered how to make my favorite Presidente Margarita and many other famous favorites at home? Pretty unbelievable right? I kid you not, I will divulge my sources and you make your favorites too!

As you can see, the title of my post is about the Chilis Presidente Margarita, so I can't go without talking about this wonderfully tasty concoction. This has become a "girls night out" staple. Come to find out, it's actually pretty simple to make.

You will have to have all items at your fingertips because it tastes best when its just poured. You will need 1 1/4 ounces tequila sauzas commemorativo tequila, 2 ounce Cointreau liqueur, 1/2 ounce Presidente brandy (hence the "Presidente" part of the drink), 4 ounces liquid sweet and sour cocktail mix, a splash of lime juice, a bar shaker, ice, salt, and a martini glass.

First, you are going to put some lime juice onto a coffee saucer and dip the rim of your glass into it and then immediately into your margarita salt then you add ice to your glass.  Next you are going to shake ice and the first five ingredients in your bar shaker and strain into the salt rimmed glass. If desired you can put a little lime wedge onto the rim for decor.

Lastly, ENJOY!

See how simple this drink is? And the best part is that you can find all of the ingredients at your local liquor store. If you would like to find out how to make many more delicious drinks and foods from your favorite restaurants click here!
